It has been raining for the last 2 days as Hurricane Sandra makes her way north toward Mazatlan (some 400 miles west of us), tomorrow should be rainy all day and then Saturday we should get some relief. Sandra has made the last 2 day quite uncomfortable with high humidity and has suppressed the natural breezes that cool us down....though with the rain it has gotten cooler. Hope to be back at anchor by Sunday or sooner as weather permits. No wind and roll anchorage make for sleepless nights.over 8 years  agoShow

21º 4.698' N105º 45.702' Ws/v Gemini5/8 2015 Morning…This position marker was accidentally deleted and is out of order...we are in La Cruz, sorry my iFinger got in the way. Today finds us entering Banderas Bay or more commonly known as Puerto Vallarta, here we are meeting up with the sailing vessel Hooligan with Tim and Paula and Boat Dog Nigel, we have not been in the same waters for 7 years, great reunion ahead. Winds carried thru until 3am this morning then died completely and now as of this writing it is filling in from the NW we will finish off the day sailing without the iron gennie. The moon rise last night was spectacular, no other word can describe it...sunset was the garden variety, great but nothing out of the ordinary...we are so lucky to be here. Will send another update once we get to hook down in La Cruz in the northern bay. Les and Diane almost 9 years  agoShow

20º 46.002' N105º 30.702' Ws/v GeminiHello Everyone. Another day of moving around and now we find ourselves in Punta de Mita, with water clear enough to see the anchor set when we deployed it. Nice breeze and nice change from La Cruz. Going ashore later to see what the fresh vegetable situation is, as we are getting a little low in or stores since the last delivery in La Cruz last Thursday. Maybe they get a fresh delivery here in Pt Mita tomorrow, also. The logic of how it works here will be made clear to us tomorrow. Such is life in mañana land. Mañana doesn't mean tomorrow, Mañana means not now. Tomorrow is a possibility, but don't hold your breath. Love and Regards Les and Diane almost 9 years  agoShow

20º 44.892' N105º 22.2' Ws/v GeminiJust a quick note to let you know that we have put the anchor down in 25 knots of wind in La Cruz. Took a nap and had dinner over on Hooligan. We did not even begin to catch up on the last 7 years. We are here for awhile and will get more caught up as time progresses. 28 hours from Mazatlan to La Cruz, nice fast passage with 60% sailing. Great days.

23º 12.9' N106º 29.31' Ws/v GeminiThe crew of Gemini have completed all chores that were schedule in Mazatlan and as with any cruiser endeavor, it took twice the time to accomplish all the tasks on the list. Dental, took longer than expected. Trip to dermatologist, not scheduled. Trip to La Paz to retrieve our truck, ferry broke down, took an extra 10 hours. Sewing projects. Also they closed the harbor for 4 days due to large wave (15 feet) breaking in the entrance. I was able to get some good video of the event. Getting caught up with many friends we have not seen for some number of year as well as getting to know some new friends. Mazatlan is a wonderful town and a great place to explore?.food and restaurants here have become quite sophisticated and the quality and variety has improved?most anything anyone would want. We departing for Puerto Vallarta this morning and the wind are predicted to be favorable?we will see. All for the moment, Hugs to all, Les and Diane almost 9 years  agoShow
