27º 39.258' S153º 20.784' ESV AUSTRALISFinally set off from Southport following the inland waterways towards Moreton Bay. This was a fun route with depths just sufficient to accommodate our draft while going via Jacobs Well and Stieglitz, we finally settled on an isolated anchorage in the mangroves, next to Long Island, not another cruiser in sight. This was where we got our first sightings of the shy but fascinating Dugong.over 5 years  agoShow

27º 58.23' S153º 25.278' ESV AUSTRALISA fast sail up from Coffs Harbour, issues with the AIS, another job for the list. We arrived early morning into the Gold Coast Seaway, even so, hectic with 'tinnies' and surf boarders approaching from every angle. Parked at the Super Yacht, International Arrivals pontoon in Southport Marina where we will likely spend a few weeks. Just a stone throw from Surfers Paradiseover 5 years  agoShow

33º 48.162' S151º 15.078' ESV AUSTRALISToday is the day we start the adventure, sailing around the world, slowly... Very slowly!

We departed Middle Harbour at 10am to get fuel but the expected opening of the Spit Bridge never happened, great service guys!!! (Not)

So we headed around to Rushcutters Bay to fuel up which in fact gave us one last chance to see Sydney, the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge from the water before passing through Sydney heads, northbound.

Our first leg is a short one of 25nm just to ensure all the systems are operational and, well we're not in a rush!

Next stop, Pittwater
