It is just a couple of miles from Bahia Los Angeles. PSJ is considered a hurricane hole and probably deserves the name. But we managed not to go aground and had a nice quiet night. The place is a Mexican RV campground favorite apparently, and the place is well used. However we took some walks and swam a lot but didn't go to town (couple hundred yards). Absolutely calm in the north-most anchorage area. Lovely breezes, no swell, perfect. This gem of an anchorage, though heavily used, is worth a visit. It is a large basin with silky white sands and glowing green waters reminiscent of the Caribbean. There are some little hikes and multiple perfect beaches. We did not find great snorkeling, but we would try some of the rock outcroppings at the opening of the bay next time. Both nights we experienced the lovely if a little too exciting Corumuel winds that blow through La Paz from the Pacific on late spring and early summer nights. This is one of several marinas in the city of La Paz. The entry to the channel is surrounded by cruise ships and the odd tanker / freighter. Although sometimes visited by tropical storms or the edges of hurricanes, this relatively safe city for marinas has the advantage of being surrounded by fabulous cruising grounds - islands, pocket coves and lovely places to anchor.
