29º 32.148' N113º 33.396' WEurybiaPuerto Refugio on Isla Angel de la Guarda is my favorite place of the trip. There are a series of anchorages in the top of the island, each has a different stunning outlook. The massive cliffs provide a stunning backdrop. The waters are lovely, the beaches rocky but filled with shells. Sea lions oork nearby. Gorgeous. almost 3 years  agoShow

31º 18.528' N113º 32.676' WEurybiaPuerto Penasco. A lively if not lovely town. The beach is great, lots of places to find tacos, but the Cabrales yard is why sailors come here. almost 3 years  agoShow

28º 56.646' N113º 27.252' WEurybiaPuerto San Juan. We chose this anchorage when Animas Slot appeared too exposed for the NE winds we were having. It is just a couple of miles from Bahia Los Angeles. PSJ is considered a hurricane hole and probably deserves the name. The entrance is guarded by a large rocky peninsula preventing the entrance of waves. almost 3 years  agoShow

28º 26.004' N112º 51.798' WEurybiaSan Francisquito. A large and ruggedly beautiful anchorage. On the south side there is a small reef which you can anchor behind to calm the bits of wave that make it into this location. Peaceful nights, great swimming. Perfect.almost 3 years  agoShow

27º 20.454' N112º 15.882' WEurybiaSanta Rosalia is said to be a true, unspoiled Mexican town. The harbor is not much, although the small Fonatur marina looks pleasant enough. We however are anchored in the harbor near the pangas and we are not tempted to swim tonight. But we had a nice dinner in town, bought some veggies, and watched a bit of a political rally. Lovely place. almost 3 years  agoShow

24º 24.402' N112º 15.516' WEurybiaBeautiful Bahia Santa Maria. Our favorite place so far.over 4 years  agoShow

26º 45.828' N111º 53.04' WEurybiaSantispac in Bahia Concepcion was a fun place. A little tricky to get into - LOTS of shallow water and the chart depths were flat out mis-leading. But we managed not to go aground and had a nice quiet night. The place is a Mexican RV campground favorite apparently, and the place is well used. We didn't go to Santa Domingo near the mouth of the bay because it looked too exposed - Santispac was certainly better protected from swell. almost 3 years  agoShow

26º 20.868' N111º 24.834' WEurybiaSan Juanico was a honeymoon of the place. The first 24 hours we were alone there and believe me, we took advantage of the private time. Gorgeous place. almost 3 years  agoShow

25º 49.014' N111º 18.036' WEurybiaPuerto Escondido near Loreto, Baja South. Very nice marina with a mooring field / anchorage sharing the same amenities as the marina - showers, internet, pool, tienda, dinghy dock, potable water. Delightful place, fabulously helpful and friendly staff. We are moored out so that Jon can fix the electric anchor windlass - pulling that sucker up by hand has not been fun for him. We plan to be here a week.almost 3 years  agoShow

25º 31.422' N111º 4.416' WEurybiaAgua Verde in Baja South. This delightful fishing village, maybe 10 families, has a tienda and sometimes a tacqueria. However we took some walks and swam a lot but didn't go to town (couple hundred yards). Absolutely calm in the north-most anchorage area. Lovely breezes, no swell, perfect. The water IS green and not recommended for running your watermaker, but delightful to swim in. almost 3 years  agoShow

24º 54.654' N110º 42.348' WEurybiaSan Evaristo on Baja South. Cute fishing village, but we happened to have several hours of very rolly conditions so we left early the next morning.almost 3 years  agoShow

24º 33.036' N110º 24.138' WEurybiaEnsenada El Cardonal on Isla Partida, just north of Isla Espiritu Santo. Nice deep anchorage for maximum swell protection. The second day everyone else left so we could maximize our skinny-dipping pleasure. Fabulous anchoragealmost 3 years  agoShow

24º 19.32' N110º 19.878' WEurybiaPuerto Balarta This gem of an anchorage, though heavily used, is worth a visit. It is a large basin with silky white sands and glowing green waters reminiscent of the Caribbean. There are some little hikes and multiple perfect beaches. We did not find great snorkeling, but we would try some of the rock outcroppings at the opening of the bay next time. Both nights we experienced the lovely if a little too exciting Corumuel winds that blow through La Paz from the Pacific on late spring and early summer nights. Gusts were 20-30 knots. almost 3 years  agoShow

24º 11.004' N110º 18.168' WEurybiaPalmira Marina, La Paz This is one of several marinas in the city of La Paz. The entry to the channel is surrounded by cruise ships and the odd tanker / freighter. Although sometimes visited by tropical storms or the edges of hurricanes, this relatively safe city for marinas has the advantage of being surrounded by fabulous cruising grounds - islands, pocket coves and lovely places to anchor. While here we will check out some issues we've had, buy fresh food for the next leg of our trip, and do laundry... all the boring minutia!almost 3 years  agoShow

22º 52.836' N109º 54.414' WEurybiaCabo San Lucas has a spectacular waterfront!over 4 years  agoShow

23º 59.448' N109º 49.656' WEurybiaLos Muertos. This is a small funky anchorage with a restaurant (oh joy!) with some internet. Only our mac laptop was able to acquire the signal, our android phones and ipads could not sign in. almost 3 years  agoShow

23º 22.854' N109º 25.416' WEurybiaLos Frailes After 36 hours crossing the Sea of Cortez we were very glad to reach this anchorage early one morning. It is quite isolated and dramatic. almost 3 years  agoShow

21º 58.314' N105º 58.686' WEurybiaIsla Isabela This island offshore from the Pacific coast of Mexico is called the "Galapagos of Mexico". Boobies breed here and there are tons of fish and birds. Best snorkeling we've found so far, lovely location. almost 3 years  agoShow

21º 9.762' N105º 13.59' WEurybiaChacala. Beloved Anchorage for La Cruz folks. Mexicans in general seem to love it, it has the flavor of a holiday seaside town with rides for kids on inflatable hot dog-like chariots pulled by pangas. almost 3 years  agoShow
